Mobile arched roof simulation: 4 rail and retraction layouts
This simulation illustrates a retractable whole-frame arched roof, its X-braces and accessory positions. Select the retraction direction and rail position to explore how the frame moves.
Explore one-end and two-end roof movement with either raised rails or ground-level rails, plus the accessory positions. The actual installation configuration is determined by the project drawings.
Retractable arched roof — working principle
PA 1: raised rails on I-section columns, retracting to one end. 20% is packed; 100% covers the full length.
PA 1: one-end retraction, raised rails on I-section columns.
PA 2: two-end retraction, raised rails on I-section columns.
PA 1.1: one-end retraction, ground-level rails.
PA 2.1: two-end retraction, ground-level rails.
20% is compact retraction; 50% is the intermediate position; 100% is full extension to cover the roof length in this model. In PA 2 and PA 2.1, the two halves retract to opposite ends and meet at the centre at 100%.
Three accessory positions on the roof frame
Steel rings with threaded rods and nuts: mounted on the moving posts, allowing the X-brace connections between posts to slide as the frame retracts or extends.
Motor drive beams: on both sides of the frame; each beam connects the feet of the leading two posts on one rail. The two-end layout illustrates mirrored drive groups at opposite ends.
Confirm the actual installation and accessory specifications against the project drawings. The illustrated drive groups explain the principle; they do not determine the required motor count for every project.
