How the whole frame moves
The roof-truss assemblies move together with the roof covering along the designed guides, tracks and wheels. The layout must accommodate both the travel path and the space occupied when retracted. Supports, connections, wheels and the drive system need to work as a coordinated assembly. A drawing or short video helps identify the mechanism before parts are selected.
What needs checking before design
Confirm the clear span, headroom, column positions, travel direction and retracted footprint. Check foundation and support conditions, track alignment, drainage and interfaces with existing buildings. Factory projects also need to account for vehicle routes, loading operations and maintenance access. Existing concrete or steelwork should be assessed before it is proposed for reuse.
From site information to installation
The agreed work may include site assessment, layout and drawings, material selection, fabrication, transport, installation, adjustment, testing and handover. Manual or motor-driven operation is selected with the operating load, travel distance, frequency of use and power supply in mind. Canopy area alone is not enough to select a motor.
Define the quotation clearly
The quotation should identify the steelwork, fabric, tracks, wheels, drive and controls included. Foundations, reinforcement, drainage, lifting equipment and power connections must be allocated to the responsible party. Transport, taxes, programme and warranty terms are confirmed for the project. There is no single square-metre price or standard configuration for every site.

Vietnam project reference
The Á Đông plastic factory project in Yên Mỹ Industrial Park, Hưng Yên, provides survey, design, fabrication and installation records. The owner’s update dated 13 October 2026 describes ongoing coating work on columns and trusses. It is a construction-stage reference, not a completion announcement or a design specification for another project.
Operation and maintenance
Keep movement paths clear and follow the project’s operating instructions. Inspect tracks, wheels, connections, drainage and drive components as specified at handover. Stop operation if movement becomes abnormal or obstructed. Follow the project-specific retraction and weather limits; do not assume the canopy is suitable for every wind condition.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as a folding fabric canopy?
The mechanism is different. This system moves its roof-truss assemblies with the covering. A folding fabric canopy retracts the fabric along tracks while the main supporting structure remains in place.
Can photos be used for a quotation?
Photos and dimensions support an initial discussion. The confirmed configuration and quotation require the relevant foundation, support, track, drainage and installation conditions to be established.
Can existing foundations be retained?
That requires site information and an appropriate structural assessment. Their continued use cannot be confirmed solely because they already support another structure.
